Odyssey Dental Care provides our patients with friendly care and an important part of our process is informing patients of their dental needs. Many individuals who are paying for dental insurance do not realize that their plans provide coverage up to a certain dollar amount annually. Consequently some patients are not scheduling the dental treatment they need, deserve, and have insurance to cover. Unfortunately, many patients do not realize insurance benefits for each year cannot be carried over to the next year. The bottom line is, what the patient does not use, they lose. Please contact our office to discuss your current and pending treatment plan and our staff will be happy to discuss your dental benefits at that time. Yours Truly, Dr. Baluta and the staff at Odyssey Dental Care

WE BE BRUSHIN’ VIDEO

Oct 04, 2013

Category:

MDA - We Be Brushin' from Numan Films on Vimeo.

The Manitoba Dental Association has created a fun and catchy message to encourage school children to brush and floss daily. The song We Be Brushin’, written and recorded by Winnipeg radio personality and hip-hop rapper Ismaila Alfa, is aimed squarely at the kids of today, presented in a form they are used to seeing and hearing. Created and produced during spring break 2013, the hip-hop video and television Public Service Announcement was shot on location in Winnipeg. Set to a cool rap track and using a funky shooting style, original choreography, special effects and props, the MDA is hoping kids will tune in to the message and join the movement to a healthier mouth. "We wanted to create a fun, interactive tool parents can use to get their kids excited about good dental habits,” said MDA Communications Committee Chair, Dr. Joel Antel. The video features more than 30 children ranging in age from 5 – 15, as well as dancers from Magic N Motion and several Manitoba dentists. “Brushing and flossing every morning and night are essential for healthy teeth and a healthy mouth. Establishing the right habits early sets the course for a lifetime of good dental health and positive dental experiences. Rather than lecture parents and expect that message to reach their kids, we wanted to create a hub for good facts that families will actually want to check out. The MDA website, ManitobaDentist.ca, is filled with great information on the importance of daily brushing and flossing," added Dr. Amarjit Rihal, MDA President. This new video and PSA is intended to generate awareness and get the attention of young people with the message that taking care of your teeth can be fun, is important to look and feel great, and has long term health benefits Please help us make this video go “viral”. Share with others on Facebook, Twitter or any other forms of social media you may use. For more information on the video and Manitoba Dentists please contact: Rafi Mohammed, Executive Director Manitoba Dental Association

Stop Snoring!

Jun 05, 2013

Category:

For those of you that snore (and believe me you'll be told,) we can help you by making an appliance that will fit your mouth. With a custom fit appliance it will be comfortable to wear making it easy to still sleep and get to sleep, and yet it will help decrease your snoring. The appliance will basically fit on your top teeth and on your bottom teeth, and it will posture your lower jaw forward. When that happens, it keeps the airway open and decreases the amount of snoring. You sleep better, your partner will be very happy and everybody wins.
